Melissa Lawrenz

Melissa Lawrenz is a Chicago based filmmaker and editor. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.F.A. in film production from Columbia College Chicago. Her work has screened at over 200 film festivals worldwide including her experimental documentary I Hope, Grandmother which has also screened on PBS and at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C. The Other One, a feature film she edited, is now available through Hulu and Amazon. She currently is the Senior Video Editor for The Onion which is part of G/O Media and teaches editing at Columbia College Chicago and DePaul University.
