In our "Meet the Team" series we've asked each of our advisory board and founding team members a series of questions so you can get to know them.
Today we'd like to introduce Nick Davis, Creative Producer and Editor for the network.
Here's what he had to say:
Hey I’m Nick, a comedian, actor and musician who has been performing for most of my life. Recently I have been doing improv, stand-up, and sketch around Chicago. I regularly edit video and am just happy to be using my college degree. I also own a keytar.
What's something you've been reading/watching/listening to lately that you're loving?
Like pretty much everyone on the planet, I'm obsessed with Wandavision! I've also been watching Behind Her Eyes, Servant, and The Great. I've also been rewatching old episodes of Adam Ruins Everything because I'm a masochist and I can't allow myself to enjoy nice things.
What is something you're working on right now (or recently) that you're really pumped about?
I'm teaching myself Adobe After Effects. I've always been enamored with trippy transitions and effects on videos, and I thought I'd dig in and learn how they're made!
Any new pandemmy hobbies?
I've become quite the chef! But I've also been hooked on Mario Kart Tour. I wouldn't call Mario Kart a hobby, but rather an obsession. I play that game way too much. If anyone else plays it, send me your friend code. I'm very generous and timely with sending Greeting Coins.
What made you want to get involved with Trident?
I've been incredibly fortunate to meet so many talented artists, actors, comedians, and musicians across many miles in my time performing. This network felt like a great opportunity to give back and help connect different communities.
What are you most excited about when it comes to Trident?
I'm excited about shining a spotlight on all the amazing art that is being created but not seen. The hardest part of performing is opening doors, and this network is all about helping each other find and open those doors- but most importantly it's about creating our own spaces.
What is something you wish more people knew about you? A fun fact or secret talent?
I've been a drummer since I was 14 years old. I LOVE to play drums. I've been in many bands, played so many different genres with a lot of great musicians in so many different dives and random places and venues. It's an old joke that musicians become actors and comedians at the end of their careers but I guess it's true. But I'm not done with music yet!
Anything else you'd like us to know?
I'm so excited to work with everyone!
