In our "Meet the Team" series we've asked each of our advisory board and founding team members a series of questions so you can get to know them.
Today we'd like to introduce Michael McNally, Creative Producer and Editor for the network.
Here's what he had to say:
I’m Michael, I am a filmmaker and musician from Grant Park, IL and I’m super excited to be working with the Trident Network.
What's something you've been reading/watching/listening to lately that you're loving?
I’m currently reading Little Women. Some movies that just won’t leave my head are Lady Bird, Hereditary, and Good Time. And if you like hearing about the process from directors, check out IndiWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast and DGA’s The Director's Cut.
What is something you're working on right now (or recently) that you're really pumped about?
I’m finishing post production on a project written by H2BH member/Trident’s Emma Smith, and starring Happy to Be Here’s Michael Brackney that’s unlike anything I’ve done before. It will be featured in Chimera, a virtual immersive experience. The last show is this Saturday, 3/27 from 9pm-10pm. Tix on sale now at chimera.eventbrite.com
Any new pandemmy hobbies?
Woodworking. I needed a bed frame, so I built one. My girlfriend needed a table, so I built her one. It’s pretty gratifying to eat a meal at a table built with your bare hands.
What made you want to get involved with Trident?
I did a lot of work with Val at iOCN and really enjoyed that experience. I am excited about Trident’s potential as a media platform.
What are you most excited about when it comes to Trident?
I’m most excited about collaborating with all of the wonderfully talented people at Trident (be it via Zoom/email at the moment) and being a part of a creative force.
What is something you wish more people knew about you? A fun fact or secret talent?
I really really REALLY want to make a horror short
