Scenario: you’ve just witnessed your parents’ tragic deaths and you have one billion dollars. Do you A) Feel the hard feelings you need to feel and then use your money and influence to better your society so that no one is forced into a position where they need to steal and cheat and lie just to survive? Or do you B) Get really mad, discover a cave beneath your house, and turn to vigilantism so you can use your fists to get your rage out on your enemies, who weren’t even the people that killed your parents? Well, if you’re like these eight actors on our list, you’re choosing B–B for Batman.
That’s right, folks! We’re trying to figure out who played Batman the best on the big screen. Why now? Well, a brand new Batman is about to be revealed, one played by Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’s The Batman. But until then, there are exactly eight actors who have played Gotham’s favorite hero in a movie with a wide theatrical release. And as you all already know, eight is one of our favorite numbers.
Because Batman is one of America’s most beloved superheroes, one who has had multiple movies spanning genre, style, and time itself, we know it might be a tough choice (except for whoever is going up against George Clooney). Your favorite Batman is probably whoever was Batman when you were a child. But that’s not the question, is it? No, as usual, we’re asking you who the best Batman was.
